Regional connectivity is the key to effectively exploiting resources, creating value chains and common benefits for the entire region.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy Le Hoang Oanh emphasized that in the context of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution, e-commerce has become one of the core factors promoting socio-economic development. Especially, for the Central Highlands region with its large geographical features, scattered population and limited transport infrastructure, e-commerce is an effective tool to connect the region's products and services with domestic and international markets.

Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy Le Hoang Oanh

The Central Highlands is known for its strong agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, rubber, specialty fruits and typical handicraft products. These products are not only of high quality but also bear the mark of the Central Highlands. According to Director Le Hoang Oanh, e-commerce is an important bridge to bring these products to the wide consumption in the provinces in the Central Highlands as well as expand the consumption market throughout the country.

What is particularly favorable is that the Central Highlands region has great potential for online export of these items to countries in the region such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and other ASEAN countries. The development of e-commerce has helped erase geographical boundaries, reduce transaction costs and time, and create conditions for small and medium enterprises to access international markets more easily. “This is a great opportunity for the Central Highlands not only to increase export turnover but also to widely promote local product brands globally,” affirmed the Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy.

Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que

In addition to the advantages, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que said that the e-commerce sector in the province still faces many difficulties and challenges. Currently, there are about 5,238 enterprises in Gia Lai province, of which 40% have built e-commerce websites. The established websites have not been effectively exploited; In addition, the skills of applying customer care software, order management, sales strategies, marketing, and branding in enterprises are still limited due to lack of financial resources, human resources, etc.

Therefore, the representative of Gia Lai Provincial Leaders expressed: “Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee is very honored to be chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the "Conference on promoting regional linkages in e-commerce development in Gia Lai and the Central Highlands provinces" to support local enterprises to exploit the potentials and advantages of the region; improve skills and capacity in e-commerce operations, develop product brands; proactively promote the expansion of new distribution channels as well as support export activities through cross-border e-commerce" .

According to Director Le Hoang Oanh, for e-commerce to truly develop its potential, there needs to be close cooperation between localities, businesses and state management agencies. Regional linkage is the key to effectively exploiting resources, creating value chains and common benefits for the entire region.

Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen

Emphasizing this policy, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen said that the series of regional linkage events is an opportunity for localities to improve their state management capacity, develop a healthy and sustainable e-commerce market, thereby narrowing the gap in e-commerce development between localities. For businesses, the model will help optimize resources, improve production capacity; Standardize production and product distribution processes; Increase brand awareness, expand consumer markets. In addition, the series of events also helps people increase their access to products; Increase product choices with good service quality, reduced prices...
