CPI in Hanoi as predicted by experts will remain under pressure with the price hike of houses, electricity, water, fuel and building materials, not to say the eating and drinking services group. The main reason for this is that early this month, gas price suddenly increased from VND 423,000 a tank to VND 450,000 a tank. On the other hand, the food and eating services group also increased due to the price hike of beef, pork, chicken, fish and some kinds of farm produce which had been consumed in great quantity. However, food price had not changed much, with a 0.12% increase in CPI.

Gold price, even it is not included in the CPI this month, also saw a 0.34% increase as against the previous month, yet a year-on-year increase of 9.37%. On the contrary, CPI of US dollar this month was slightly reduced to 0.12% as against the previous month and a year-on-year decrease of 1.06%./.
