International visitors to Vietnam in January hit record high

January 2012 has seen 630 international tourist arrivals, a year-on-year 24.8% increase, the statistical figures was made public on February 3, 2012.
This is the record high figure so far. The number of Cambodian tourists has increased sharply, by 95%; China, by 93.4%; Taiwan, by 65.3%; France, by 33.3%; the US, by 26.8%; Japan, by 26.2%; Malaysia, by 24.8% and South Korea, by 14.6%.

In the pre-Tết days, the tourist sector had prepared well to welcome the incoming foreign guests who would come to enjoy the Tết festivals in such places of household names as Huong Pagoda, Hung King Temple, Yen Tu festival, the Vieng Market festival and the Phu Giay festival.
On the other hand, a lot of tourist agents in the South of the country like Saigontourist had organized tours to the North of Vietnam to Dau Pagoda, But Thap Pagoda, Huong Pagoda, Thay Pagoda, Tay Phuong Pagoda, Tram Gian Pagoda, Non Nuoc Pagoda, Trang An-Bai Dinh Pagoda and Yen Tu.
Saigontourist had also taken international visitors to famous craft villages imbued with age-old traditional folklore crafts. As usual, the pilgrimages and spring festivals often extend all through to Lunar March./.
