Sesame seeds are probably one of the first oil seeds known to mankind.
Sesame comes in two varieties: black sesame and white sesame. Apart from being a crunchy and delicious addition to your meals, sesame also has many health benefits.
Sesame can be used as a sprinkle on food, as a filling, or as a complete dish. Sesame dishes are very diverse, from snacks to main dishes, including sesame salt, sesame bread, sesame sweet soup, sesame sticky rice, spring rolls, sesame fried meat, white sesame fish cakes, and various types of nut milk or sesame butter.

Black sesame sweet soup (Chi ma phu)

Black sesame tea nourishes blood, nourishes hair, and is a laxative. Eaten hot in the morning or evening, it is very good for people with weakness and postpartum women.
Ingredient:
Roasted black sesame: 100g
Glutinous rice: 50g
Rock sugar: 80g
Fresh ginger: 1 slice (optional)
Making:
Black sesame seeds roasted and ground.
Soak sticky rice for 1-2 hours, grind with sesame and water.
Cook the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly.
When thickened, add rock sugar and ginger if desired.
Black sesame sticky rice balls
A traditional dish on the occasion of Cold Food Festival or the full moon day, black sesame floating cake has a sweet, soft, fragrant taste.
Ingredient:
Glutinous rice flour: 200g
Ground roasted black sesame: 100g
Palm sugar or brown sugar: 50g
Ginger: a few slices
White sesame: sprinkle on top
Making:
Mix ground black sesame with sugar to make filling.
Roll the dough into balls and stuff with the filling.
Boil the cake until it floats, remove and cook again with ginger sugar water.
Sprinkle white sesame seeds on top before serving.
Salted Sesame Rice Balls (Vietnamese Onigiri)

Ingredient:
White rice or brown rice
Sesame salt (white sesame + crushed salt, ratio 10:1)
Making:
Mix rice with sesame salt.
Form into small bite-sized pieces, can be wrapped in seaweed.
White sesame cookies

White sesame cookies are crispy, fragrant and fatty, used as a snack with tea.
Ingredient:
Wheat flour: 150g
Sugar: 60g
Butter: 100g
White sesame: 50g
Making:
Mix butter, sugar, flour, then knead until smooth.
Shape into small balls, sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
Bake at 160°C for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Black sesame pumpkin soup

Ingredient:
Pumpkin: 300g
Coconut milk: 100ml
Roasted black sesame: 2 tablespoons
Shallots, sesame oil, spices
Making:
Steam pumpkin until cooked, puree with coconut water.
Bring to a boil, season to taste.

Making:

White sesame seaweed soup (Korean style)
White sesame seaweed soup (Korean style) has the effect of enriching blood, purifying the body, suitable for postpartum women or vegetarians.
Ingredient:
Dried seaweed: 10g
Beef: 100g or vegetarian
White sesame, sesame oil, soy sauce
Making:
Fry onions + sesame oil, add meat and stir-fry.
Add soaked seaweed, season.
Cook, sprinkle with white sesame seeds before turning off the heat.
Black sesame butter
Ingredient:
Roasted black sesame: 100g
Sesame oil or coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
Honey (to taste)
Making:
Grind black sesame into a smooth mixture.
Add oil, honey, continue blending.
Put in a sealed jar and use within 1-2 weeks.

Black sesame milk helps nourish blood, beautify skin, suitable for the elderly, vegetarians or people with anemia.

Filtered water: 800ml
Honey, palm sugar (optional)
Making:
Grind sesame with water, filter out the residue.
