The first Dien Hong Award Final Jury met in the final round.
According to the summary report of the preliminary judging council: Of the total 1,131 works eligible for the award, based on the type and registration of the press agencies, the Secretariat has determined: Print newspaper category for editorials, comments and special articles has 41 works; Print newspaper for reflections, reports, investigations, press reports and interviews has 389 works; Electronic newspaper has 343 works; Radio has 65 works; Television has 222 works; Photos has 71 works. As a result, the preliminary judging council unanimously selected 101 works to enter the final round.
According to the general assessment, the number of works participating in the Award is very large, complete in all types of journalism, from both central press agencies, associations, unions and localities. Notably, in the Dien Hong Award, many local press agencies sent entries, among which many works made it to the final round. That affirms that the direction and launching of the competition has been implemented deeply and widely from the central to local levels. At the same time, it shows the attractiveness of the Press Award writing about the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the country's press system.
The works all closely follow and fully reflect the themes and topics according to the Rules of the first Dien Hong Press Awards, have good content, closely follow the breath of life, especially highlighting the position, role, functions and tasks of the National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels and the images of typical elected representatives, having the power to spread to the community. Many works are invested in carefully and systematically in both content and form of expression, often in multi-part series, modern forms such as Megastory, Infographic, data....
However, the preliminary judging also showed that the number of entries was mainly focused on print, electronic and television newspapers. The number of radio and photo works was still limited, especially in the field of photojournalism. The number of entries was mainly from central newspapers, press agencies of central associations and unions and some localities, with little participation from localities in the Red River Delta, Central Highlands, Mekong Delta, South Central Coast, etc.
