Within the framework of Techmart Vietnam 2026, on May 20th in Hanoi, the Innovation Department and the Information and Statistics Department ( Ministry of Science and Technology ), in collaboration with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, organized a workshop to promote the connection between technology supply and demand.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Innovation Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology has implemented many solutions to develop the science and technology market and promote the transfer and commercialization of research results from research institutes and universities to businesses.

According to Ms. Ha, improving the operational efficiency of the science and technology exchange system is one of the key tasks currently. There are currently 20 science and technology exchanges nationwide, including the National Science and Technology Exchange managed by the Department of Information and Statistics.

"This is an important platform to promote the connection between technology supply and demand through intermediary organizations, helping businesses access new technologies, improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness," Ms. Ha said.

The highlight of the workshop was the announcement by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology of a list of 112 technologies, solutions, and research results ready for transfer, and their connection to the Vietnam Science and Technology Exchange Platform.

Associate Professor Phan Tien Dung, Head of the Science and Technology Committee (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), stated that the list was compiled after a review and selection process of technologies with high application potential and commercialization capabilities. Many technologies have reached a high level of readiness and can be implemented in practical production, management, and daily life.

The catalog encompasses a wide range of technologies across various fields including artificial intelligence and digital transformation, environmental technology, agriculture and aquaculture, new materials, aerospace technology, biotechnology, and analytical equipment.

Some notable technological directions include the GPTViet large language model for Vietnamese; AI and IoT platforms for industry and management; intelligent information systems for agriculture, irrigation, and digital transformation for localities and businesses; and UAV, sensor, and remote sensing solutions for monitoring resources, the environment, and responding to climate change.

According to Associate Professor Phan Tien Dung, many technologies from the Academy have been gradually transferred to businesses and localities, especially in the fields of biotechnology, environment, materials, information technology, remote sensing, and high-tech agriculture.

Water treatment technologies, environmental monitoring, and information systems for resource management and agricultural production have been implemented in many localities, contributing to socio-economic development and improving management efficiency. Notably, mastering and preparing for the operation of the LOTUSat-1 satellite and the Earth observation technology system is considered a significant step forward in Vietnam's space technology capabilities.

"The publication of technologies, equipment, and solutions ready for transfer will help to connect technology suppliers and demanders more effectively; and at the same time expand opportunities for commercializing scientific research results," Associate Professor Phan Tien Dung emphasized.

According to a representative of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, in the coming time, the institution will continue to coordinate with intermediary agencies, organizations, and businesses to update more suitable technologies on the national science and technology exchange platform, thereby increasing access to technology for businesses and localities.

At the workshop, scientists also presented many outstanding research results from the 2021-2025 period, included in a list of 112 technologies such as the Marketing-Expro system to support local businesses in promoting and connecting with export customers; and products from passion fruit seeds for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

On this occasion, several science and technology units and enterprises also signed memoranda of cooperation to promote technology transfer and bring technology products to market.
