12 preschool children hospitalized for suspected food poisoning

On the afternoon of September 24, Mr. Tran Nguyen Phu, Director of Ha Tinh City General Hospital, confirmed that the hospital was treating 6 children suspected of food poisoning.

"The children were brought to the hospital by their relatives for examination and treatment with symptoms of mild food poisoning. After being treated by doctors, their health has gradually stabilized and they can be discharged in the next few days," said Mr. Phu.

Previously, on the night of September 23, Ha Tinh City General Hospital received 6 children who were students of Ban Mai Kindergarten located in Bac Ha Ward, Ha Tinh City, hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue...

It is known that also on the night of September 23, Ha Tinh General Hospital also received 6 children with suspected food poisoning.

Accordingly, at around 10:00 p.m. on September 23, the Pediatrics Department of this hospital received and treated 6 children with a diagnosis of abdominal pain and nausea of unknown cause.

The children were given fluid and electrolyte replacement and tested by doctors.

Currently, the symptoms of the children have improved, 2 cases are stable and have been discharged from the hospital, other children are being monitored and can be discharged in the next few days.

The children's families said that on the afternoon of September 23, after returning from school, many parents discovered that their children began to have symptoms of nausea, then continuous vomiting, stomachache, neck pain, diarrhea, fatigue... so the families took the children to the hospital for examination and treatment.

It is known that this morning (September 24), relevant functional units worked with Ban Mai Kindergarten, took samples for testing and coordinated the investigation to find out the cause of the incident.

Speaking to the press, a representative of Ban Mai Kindergarten confirmed that the above cases were children studying at the school. Every day, the facility has 75 students who eat at the school.
