| Delegates exchange ideas at the training course. |
The training course was attended by 145 delegates, including village heads and influential figures from six communes: Quang Binh, Sung Mang, Tat Nga, Pa Vay Su, Quan Ba, and Thanh Thuy. The delegates received information and guidance from speakers of the State Legal Aid Center No. 2 on the following topics: the 2017 Legal Aid Law; the Law on the Elderly; the Law on People with Disabilities; methods for identifying eligible recipients of legal aid; and the procedures for receiving and preparing applications for legal aid.
In addition, delegates exchanged views on legal dissemination skills suitable for ethnic minority communities; mediation skills; and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles in providing legal aid at the grassroots level.
This is one of five training courses conducted by the State Legal Aid Center No. 2; four more courses will be organized soon, with an expected 450 participants updating their knowledge. This will contribute to improving the capacity of village heads and influential individuals in supporting access to legal aid and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people. It will also help to effectively implement legal aid services within the two-tiered local government system.
