After 15 days adrift in the turbulent waters of the southern continental shelf, on March 12th, in Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City, the Command of Naval Region 2, in coordination with the Long Son Commune Election Committee, held a ceremony to welcome the early voting team returning to land after completing their mission at sea.

This extraordinary voyage transported ballot boxes hundreds of nautical miles to voters on the DK1 offshore platforms, patrol vessels, and fishermen who are working at sea.

The atmosphere at the naval port was more bustling than usual early in the morning. Before the two ships, Truong Sa 04 and Truong Sa 21, docked, many officers, soldiers, and local representatives were present to welcome the returning delegation. Firm handshakes and radiant smiles dispelled the fatigue after the long journey at sea.

During their 15-day mission, the early voting team of the Naval Region 2 delivered ballot boxes to more than 600 voters, including officers and soldiers serving on 15 DK1 offshore platforms, patrol vessels, and many fishermen operating in the DK1 sea area.

The journey was not simply about transporting ballot boxes, but also a special mission to ensure that every voter in the most remote areas could exercise their rights and fulfill their civic duties.

At sea, the weather has been unpredictable for several days, with high waves and strong winds making it difficult to access the offshore platforms and fishing vessels. At times, ships had to wait for hours to find a safe opportunity to approach the polling stations.

Nevertheless, the election committee members, along with the officers and soldiers on board, persevered in carrying out their duties, ensuring that every ballot reached the correct address and followed the correct procedures.

At the DK1 offshore platforms, ballots were handed directly to the officers and soldiers who are guarding the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland day and night. The voting space in the middle of the ocean was simple but solemn.

The national flag flies proudly against the blue sky, beneath which stands a striking red ballot box on the offshore platform. Each ballot cast is not only a citizen's right but also a testament to the presence of democracy in the middle of the ocean.

Not only officers and soldiers, but also many fishermen working far offshore were approached by the polling station to exercise their right to vote early. Fishing boats anchored at sea became "special polling stations." After hours of hard work in the fishing grounds, the fishermen happily participated in the election, demonstrating their responsibility to the country.

The journey of casting ballots at sea has come to an end, but the images of the resilient naval soldiers amidst the stormy waves, and the voters solemnly casting their ballots in the vast expanse of the homeland, remain as a vivid testament to a sense of responsibility wherever they may be.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony for the returning delegation, Colonel Do Hong Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, acknowledged and praised the sense of responsibility of the election committee members and the officers and soldiers of the two ships Truong Sa 04 and Truong Sa 21. He emphasized that organizing early elections at sea is a particularly important task, ensuring the voting rights of voters far from the mainland while contributing to affirming the sovereignty of the Fatherland's maritime territories and islands.

According to the plan, all ballots cast by voters at sea will be sealed and stored in accordance with regulations. The ballot boxes will be counted at 7 PM on March 15th, simultaneously with the rest of the country.
