Before commercial operation, Metro Line 1 will be tested with 200 trips per day to evaluate technical system factors.
On December 12, Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company Limited (HURC12) announced that before commercial operation, Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will enter its final test run with 1 trips per day. The test run will take place from December 200-13, from 21am to 12pm.
The train departs from Long Binh depot (Thu Duc city) and ends at Ben Thanh station (district 1) with a distance of nearly 20km. Trains operate every 8-12 minutes, travel time is about 30 minutes, stopping at each station for 30 seconds.

According to HURC1, this is the final comprehensive inspection step before Ho Chi Minh City's first metro line goes into commercial operation.
During the testing phase, the unit will evaluate factors such as technical systems, train performance, coordination between operating departments, and smoothness in handling real-life situations.
A day ago, the Urban Railway Management Board handed over assets of CP3 package - Metro line 1 (electromechanical equipment, locomotives, carriages, rails) to HURC1.
This is one of the procedures for investors and HURC1 to master the operation of equipment and trains.
The Urban Railway Management Board said that the unit and HURC1 are currently working together with consultants and contractors to urgently complete the remaining procedures to be eligible for acceptance of the entire project, putting Metro No. 1 into commercial operation on December 22.
During the first 6 months of commercial operation, Metro Line 1 will run 200 trips per day, from 5am to 22pm. During peak hours, trains will run every 8 minutes with 9 trains. During the remaining hours, trains will run every 12 minutes with 6 trains.
Metro No. 1 is the first urban railway line built in Ho Chi Minh City, 19,7km long, including: 2,6km underground and 17,1km above ground. The total investment after adjustment is 43.700 billion VND. The project has a route through District 1, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) and Di An (Binh Duong).
