According to the Vinh Long Agricultural Project Management Board, the province currently has 26 agricultural and irrigation infrastructure projects facing difficulties in compensation and site clearance. Of these, Ben Tre has 14 projects, Vinh Long has 9 projects and Tra Vinh has 3 projects.
There are 11 projects whose construction progress is directly affected due to slow measurement acceptance, unapproved compensation plans, lack of resettlement fund or people's disagreement, arising disputes and requests for additional compensation.
In the old Vinh Long area, 6 projects are behind schedule, including: the Thanh Binh and Quoi Thien salinity prevention and freshwater retention irrigation system; the Cai Ca river embankment; the repair of the Co Chien river embankment; the upgrade of the My Loc - My Thanh Trung - Long Phu - Song Phu irrigation system; the Con Luc Sy irrigation embankment system; the Co Chien river embankment at Cu Lao An Binh. These projects are mainly stuck in the measurement acceptance and lack of resettlement land.

In the Ben Tre area, 4 essential infrastructure projects continue to be behind schedule because people have not received money or requested adjustments to compensation for land and crops. Acceptance of measurement data is also difficult because Circular 49/2016/TT-BTNMT has expired.
In Tra Vinh, the Long Binh river embankment project still has 29 cases that have not received money, many files need to be adjusted due to land disputes or boundary changes.
In addition to the projects behind schedule, 15 other projects have not completed procedures such as compensation settlement, resettlement site arrangement or dispute settlement, although this has not affected construction.
Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, recently had a working session and requested the Agricultural Project Management Board, departments, branches and localities to review all problems, clarify responsibilities at each stage and thoroughly handle the backlog. For projects that are behind schedule, the province directed the development of a specific solution plan, early completion of measurement acceptance, approval of compensation plans and full preparation of resettlement land to hand over the site on schedule.
The province also requested localities to strengthen mobilization and dialogue with people to remove difficulties, ensure continuous construction and speed up disbursement of public investment.
