On the morning of the 27th of the twelfth lunar month,   The new Eastern Bus Station (Long Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) entered its next peak day serving people returning home for Tet (Lunar New Year). From early morning, the waiting area was packed with passengers, and the walkways were constantly bustling.

Many people arrived at the bus station mostly by metro , ride-hailing services, or public buses, dragging along suitcases and luggage. Inside the station, bus routes to Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands saw a significant increase in passengers. Station staff and bus operators continuously guided passengers, checked tickets, and helped them board buses on time.

In the waiting area, many people sat waiting for their bus to depart. Some arrived very early, fearing traffic jams and missing their bus.

However, this morning, the bus station was quite crowded, but around 10 a.m., buses started departing, although fewer buses were scheduled for midday. As a result, the waiting area was relatively less crowded compared to yesterday and the preceding days. While the waiting area wasn't overly crowded, passengers were still scattered throughout the station.

Most visitors had already purchased tickets in advance or through apps, so there was no longer the crowding to buy tickets like in previous years. A small number of people who hadn't managed to buy tickets in advance had to go to the bus company's ticket counters to buy them and travel on the same day.

According to a representative from Samco, the peak period for Tet 2026 will last 20 days, from the 20th day of the 12th lunar month (February 7th) to the 10th day of Tet (February 26th). During this time, the Eastern Bus Station is expected to operate 10,052 trips, serving approximately 181,968 passengers; the new Eastern Bus Station will have 8,850 trips, serving approximately 164,460 passengers. On February 13th (the 26th day of the 12th lunar month), the station is expected to serve 754 trips with 23,020 passengers, an increase of 9% in the number of trips and 16% in passengers compared to the same day last year.
