On November 12, in Hanoi , Hanoi Cinema Association held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (November 12, 1995 - November 12, 2025).

To build and develop the capital's cinema art, in 1990, the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee decided to establish the Hanoi Film Studio, with cinematographer Dan Thiet Thu as Director. On November 12, 1995, writer To Hoai, former Chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, signed the Decision to establish the Hanoi Cinema Association; director and cinematographer Dan Thiet Thu was the General Secretary.
Over 30 years of establishment and development, the Hanoi Cinema Association has become a strong socio- political and professional organization on the literary and artistic front of the capital. As a member of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, the Hanoi Cinema Association has proactively organized and operated, making efforts with other professional associations to create a widespread influence in the capital and the whole country.

Speaking at the ceremony, screenwriter Bành Thị Mai Phương, President of the Hanoi Cinema Association, affirmed: “The establishment of the Hanoi Cinema Association has met the urgent needs of the capital's cinema artists - a major cinema center of the country.”
According to screenwriter Bành Thị Mai Phương, from 38 founding members, the Association now has 448 members, including 4 people who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize, 27 people who won the State Prize for Literature and Arts; 35 People's Artists and 65 Meritorious Artists.
Over the years, prominent artists of Hanoi cinema and Vietnamese cinema have been present on the journey with the Hanoi Cinema Association, contributing honest voices reflecting the life of the Capital. The members of the Association are the core force of Vietnamese cinema, worthy of being soldiers on the cultural front.

Congratulating the Hanoi Cinema Association on its 30th anniversary, People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem, Chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, highly appreciated the contribution of the Hanoi Cinema Association in portraying the image of the thousand-year-old capital through films. People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem affirmed that Hanoi cinema artists have realistically and touchingly portrayed the image of Hanoi people in war and peace, in creative work and daily life; at the same time, orienting aesthetics and enriching cultural life for the public of the capital and the country.
The Chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association commented that the works of its members always show the pride and endogenous strength of Hanoi’s culture and people. Many films have become special marks in the hearts of the public such as “Hanoi in the winter of 1946”, “Hanoi 12 days and nights”, “Hanoi in the season of birds making nests”, “Hanoi in whose eyes”, “Kind stories”, “Peach, pho and piano”…

“In the coming time, inheriting and promoting the achieved results, the Hanoi Cinema Association will continue to build activities and work with a focus on creating many valuable works; doing a good job of taking care of members so that the association is strong in both quantity and quality, enhancing socialization, applying digital technology, contributing to cultivating the soul and character of elegant, humane and modern Hanoians”, People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem emphasized.

At the ceremony, the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association awarded certificates of merit to three outstanding members, including journalist Nguyen Huu Can, screenwriter Thai Ke Toai and Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan.
At the same time, the Hanoi Cinema Association awarded the membership decision to Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen - director of the film "Red Rain" and many other notable cinematographic works.
