On the afternoon of November 11, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Vietnam Writers Association to organize the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 5th Novel , Story and Journal Writing Contest on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life", period 2022 - 2025. Attending were Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and representatives of leaders of relevant units.

This is an activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security tradition day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (2005 - 2025), towards welcoming the 14th National Party Congress.

Speaking at the closing and awarding ceremony, Colonel Tran Cao Kieu, Deputy Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Publishing House, Head of the Standing Committee of the Contest Organizing Committee, said that the contest was organized to encourage, motivate and create conditions for writers and writers nationwide to penetrate the practical work and combat of the People's Public Security force in order to create literary works that truly and vividly reflect the image of police officers.

Along with that are the silent missions and outstanding achievements of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force and the entire population in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.

In particular, it focuses on reflecting the requirements of national security protection and maintaining order in the current period of national development and international integration. On that basis, writers and authors have created valuable literary works, contributing to the task of widely disseminating political information about the life, fighting, hardships and sacrifices of police officers, and helping to shape and firmly develop the literary topics related to the people's police force.

For the fifth time organizing the contest, the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Writers Association always create the most favorable conditions for writers to create. In order for writers to penetrate reality and express their works in the best way, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have directed the standing unit of the contest to organize annual writing camps, useful field trips, provide sources of materials, and contact with characters to get more practical information to create materials for writing.

Within the framework of the competition, 3 writing camps were held in Quang Ninh, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh. The writing camps gathered hundreds of writers and authors, were organized on a large scale and thoughtfully, creating conditions for writers to have the best inspiration and creative environment.

In the past three years, the Organizing Committee has received 140 works, of which 47 were finalists and 34 were award-winning works. Of which, the A Prize for the novel category went to 3 works: Face to Face by writer Pham Quang Long; Afternoon Through the Town by writer Nguyen Thu Hang; Wind Still Blows Through the Tropical Forest by author Duong Binh Nguyen. As for the story and memoir category, the Organizing Committee awarded the A Prize to the work Green Grass of Steel Life by writer Tong Phuoc Bao.
