Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong: Connecting Vietnamese intellectuals globally

Born in 1978 (Year of the Horse) in Soc Son (Hanoi), Nguyen Duc Khuong received his PhD in Financial Management from the University of Grenoble (France) at the age of 27. He has taught at various European educational institutions and is currently the CEO of the Léonard de Vinci Business School (EMLV, France) and President of AVSE Global – a global network of Vietnamese scientists and experts.

For many years, he was ranked among the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists, according to Stanford University; he was also highly ranked among young economists by RePEc.

In 2025, he was honored on Tatler Asia's list of "Tatler Most Influential 2025." Tatler emphasized that the selected individuals are not only outstanding professionals but also inspire and motivate the development of Asia – a region home to dynamic economies and large corporations.

In addition to his research in finance and economics, he actively participates in policy consulting, promotes connections among Vietnamese-born experts in over 20 countries, and contributes to topics such as the digital economy, sustainable development, energy, and talent acquisition.

Dr. Chu Cong Son: From the basketball court to the Oxford laboratory

Born in 1990 (Year of the Horse) in Hanoi , Chu Cong Son graduated top of his class with both a bachelor's and master's degree from Sheffield Hallam University (UK), before becoming the first Vietnamese person to study at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford.

At Oxford, he pursued research on the application of metamaterials in information transmission, publishing six journal papers and eleven international conference presentations. After completing his PhD in 2020, he moved on to medical device research at the University of Glasgow and successfully invented an RF coil used in an 11.7 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine – the strongest magnetic field currently available for humans.

His research was transferred to France and published on the cover of the leading MRI journal – Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. In September 2023, he delivered the second RF coil with significant improvements in structure, performance, signal strength, and noise reduction.

With these results, Dr. Son received a research invitation from the British government for a project to develop an 11.7 Tesla MRI machine at the University of Nottingham, used to image carbon, phosphorus, and other molecules. This project was funded by the government with up to £38 million.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Kim Hung: Young Associate Professor of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

Born in the same year, 1990 (Year of the Horse), Dr. Le Kim Hung – Head of the Communication Department, University of Information Technology (VNU-HCM) – is one of the youngest candidates to meet the criteria for the title of associate professor in 2025.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Information Technology (2013), a master's degree from Telecom ParisTech (2016), and defended his doctoral thesis at the Sorbonne University (France) in 2019. According to published papers, he has 41 scientific articles, including 14 in prestigious international journals; and holds two patents.

In 2024, Dr. Le Kim Hung was honored with the title of "Promising Young Face of Vietnam" and the Golden Globe Award for Science and Technology. He was also one of 30 delegates from Ho Chi Minh City to be recognized as an outstanding young person following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings at the 8th National Youth Awards in 2025.

According to Google Scholar, he has an H-index of 14 with over 867 citations. Additionally, he participates in organizing the university's young scientist programs, judges scientific research competitions for students, and reviews papers for several prestigious international journals such as the IEEE Internet of Things Journal and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

Ha Hai Duong: From Natural Sciences specialist to 11 US PhD invitations

Born in 2002 (Year of the Horse), a former student of the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences (Hanoi), Ha Hai Duong is currently a Chemistry student at Georgetown University (USA) with a GPA of 3.99/4. At the end of 2024, Duong received acceptance letters for doctoral programs from 11 American universities, including top institutions such as MIT, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, and UC Berkeley.

During his studies, Duong participated in research on the ionization of fluorine compounds, had articles published in journals affiliated with the Royal Society of Chemistry, and also completed a research internship at Stanford on quantum supercomputers. Universities offered him full financial aid packages, many exceeding $100,000 per year.

At the age of 22, choosing to continue her research and aspiring to return to Vietnam to teach in the future, Duong represents a generation of young intellectuals deeply integrating into the global scientific ecosystem.
