The incident occurred at 6:00 a.m. on December 7, when fishing boat BV-93600-TS captained by Mr. Thai Quoc Toan (born in 1981, Long Hai commune, Ho Chi Minh City) and 3 crew members sank in the sea area about 500m southwest of Hon La island. Immediately after, the 4 crew members were safely rescued by fishing boat BV-93601-TS captained by Mr. Dao Duy Quang (born in 1991, Thuan Bac commune, Khanh Hoa province).

It is known that these two fishing boats completed procedures to export fish from Mui Ong port at 1:15 p.m. on December 6. The boats were anchored in the waters in front of Hon La port to go to sea this morning when they encountered a water damage incident.

After receiving the news, Roon Border Guard Station mobilized 4 officers and soldiers to directly support, check the health of the sailors and grasp the situation.

Currently, all 4 crew members are stable on the BV-93601-TS ship anchored in Hon La port waters, and the ship owner is proceeding to salvage the sunken ship.
