400 people participated in extinguishing forest fire in Hue city

On the evening of July 19, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of Hue City Police said that after many hours of efforts to extinguish the fire, the forest fire in Phong Phu Ward (Hue City) was completely extinguished by the unit in coordination with other forces, preventing the fire from re-igniting.

The forest fire broke out at 9:30 a.m. the same day at lot 95 and lot 101, compartment 1, sub-area 1 in Phong Phu ward, Hue city.

Immediately after discovering the fire, the authorities mobilized forces to participate in fighting the fire with 400 people including Fire Police and Rescue, Forest Rangers, Phong Phu Ward Police and local forces.

Strong winds caused the forest fire in Phong Phu ward (Hue city) to spread rapidly over a large area.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hue City Police mobilized 7 specialized fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to participate in extinguishing the fire. After reaching the scene, the forces created a fire barrier, at the same time brought in machinery, extinguished the fire, and prevented the fire from spreading to other areas.

Fire Police and Rescue Police of Hue City Police are trying to put out the fire and save the forest.

Due to strong winds, the fire flared up again several times after being extinguished. It was not until 4:30 p.m. this afternoon that the fire was completely extinguished. According to initial statistics, the area of forest burned is estimated at about 9 hectares of production forest belonging to the people of Phong Phu ward.

Fire police and rescue forces and local forces participated in controlling forest fires.

Arriving at the scene to direct the fire fighting and overcoming the consequences of the forest fire, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh requested the local authorities to assign people to monitor the fire and proactively develop plans to prevent the fire from breaking out again. In addition, he requested the local authorities to proactively develop plans to prevent and fight forest fires in the current prolonged hot weather.
