The sudden rains of summer bring a lot of trouble to tourists when traveling to Da Lat. However, this is also the best time for tourists to experience cloud hunting activities in this city. Standing on the top of a high hill watching the sunrise among the sea of clouds will bring tourists an unforgettable experience.

Located at an altitude of about 1,500 m above sea level, Da Lat has many hills with different terrains and perspectives, giving visitors many choices when they want to hunt clouds in this city. Many young people choose to camp on the hills to enjoy the cool weather and watch the mountains, forests, and streets appearing and disappearing among the white clouds.

Da Phu Hill

Da Phu Hill (Ward 7) is a familiar place that many tourists come to when they want to experience camping and cloud hunting in Da Lat. Located about 9 km from the city center, this place consists of green pine hills one after another.

From the top of the hill, visitors can look far away, watching the green pine forests dyed with yellow sunlight peeking out from under the white clouds. Around 5am, many young people came to Da Phu hill to wait for the white clouds to cover this place and take check-in photos.

Da Phu hilltop has a fairly flat terrain, so this place is also chosen by tourists who love to experience as a camping site, watching the sunset in the afternoon and watching the sunrise in the morning with friends.

From the city center, visitors just need to follow the directions of Google Maps to Da Phu Street, from the beginning of the road go about 100m, on the left hand side there will be a guide to go up the hill. To ensure safety, avoid slipping when moving to the top of the hill, you should park your car, walk about 15 minutes to reach the top of the hill or travel by car for 50,000 VND/person for a round trip.

Cau Dat Tea Hill

Although located quite far from the city, Cau Dat tea hill (Xuan Truong commune) is still a favorite cloud hunting spot for many tourists and photographers. This place is surrounded by immense green tea fields, bringing a fresh and peaceful atmosphere.

The tea trees are quite short, so visitors can easily choose an open, unobstructed spot to watch the sun rise from the sea of floating clouds. The houses of the locals appear and disappear under the white clouds, making visitors feel like they are lost in a fairyland.

Visitors to Cau Dat can visit the Cau Dat Farm Ancient Tea Museum to visit and learn about the oldest tea processing factory in Vietnam, which is nearly 100 years old. This place also regularly hosts Da Lat art exhibitions for visitors.

From the city center, visitors travel along Highway 20 to Cau Dat tea hill. Because the distance is quite far, visitors should leave early to be able to welcome the sunrise on the hill.

Hon Bo Peak

Hon Bo (Ward 12) is a high mountain with a view of both sunrise and sunset, so many young people choose to camp and hunt clouds here. In the morning, from the top of the hill looking east, the sky and earth blend together to create an infinite sea of clouds. Each mountain range looms between the layers of clouds, creating a scene of overlapping layers.

Hon Bo Peak is 1,709 m high, higher than the surrounding hills, allowing visitors to gaze out to the distant horizon. If you come here on a clear day, you can easily see the wind turbines from Cau Dat tea hill.

In the afternoon, you can sit here and watch the brilliant sunset over the hill. After the sun sets, the lanterns turn on one by one, creating a magical scene.

Visitors follow Google Maps to get to Huynh Tan Phat Street, then turn left and go up the slope leading to the mountain. The closer to the top of Hon Bo, the steeper the road, you should lock your bike and walk up the mountain.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill

This hill is quite low, the road is easy to go, suitable for those who want to hunt clouds but are not good at driving and are afraid of traveling far. After parking your car at the foot of the hill, you just need to walk along the trail for about 5 minutes to reach the top of the hill.

Thien Phuc Duc Hill is located in Ward 7. The hill is bare, with few trees, providing a wide view for visitors who want to come here to hunt for clouds. This is also a camping spot chosen by many tourists who love to experience.

Visitors follow the map to the foot of the hill, park their vehicles at a nearby resident's house, then walk a few hundred meters along the trail to reach the top of the hill.

Golden Stream Lake

Not only can you hunt clouds on high hills, Suoi Vang Lake (Lac Duong District, Lam Dong ) - home to the famous lonely pine tree - is also a special cloud hunting spot in Da Lat. Located in the middle of the valley, surrounded by mountains and hills, in the morning this place is often covered by white clouds drifting across the lake surface.

Visitors find and move to the location of the boat dock to go to the lonely pine tree at Suoi Vang Lake. Then you park your car and the boat owner takes you across the lake to see the clouds and take pictures for a price of 50,000 VND/person.

Note

Because the road up the hill is quite slippery when it rains, visitors should park their vehicles at the foot of the hill and then walk to the top of the hill to ensure safety and avoid falling. The time to hunt for clouds in the summer is from 5-7am, visitors should leave early and bring warm jackets and gloves to protect their health.

Whether cloud hunting is successful or not depends on weather conditions and luck. Before going cloud hunting, you should check the weather conditions for that day to see if it will rain or not.

There are currently many units providing cloud hunting tours combined with photography and breakfast on the hills in Da Lat, providing more options for tourists./.
