5 people swimming in the sea, 1 person drowned

On the evening of June 1, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, resulting in one victim's death.

At around 6:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. NHM (25 years old, in Duc Phong commune, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai) and 4 friends went swimming at Thach Thang beach (Duc Phong commune).

While swimming, Mr. M. and his friends swam out to sea to bathe but unfortunately encountered a big wave that swept the whole group out. At this time, the whole group tried to get to shore, but Mr. M. was swept away by the wave and went missing.

Authorities brought the body of NHM to shore.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police dispatched 12 officers, soldiers, 1 command vehicle, 1 troop transport vehicle and specialized vehicles to the scene, coordinating with local people to search for the missing drowning victims.

At nearly 8:00 p.m. the same day, authorities found the victim's body and brought it ashore to hand over to the family for funeral arrangements.
