At the Ho Chi Minh City OCOP promotion and trade networking event, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh emphasized that the city recognizes that developing OCOP products is not simply a task for rural areas, but also an opportunity to create linkages between agriculture , trade, and tourism, forming an ecosystem of distinctive products with regional and international competitiveness.
Over the years, hundreds of OCOP products in the city have met quality standards, expanded production scale, enhanced brand recognition, and gradually conquered export markets. This success is the result of the joint efforts of the "four stakeholders": the State, scientists , businesses, and farmers, along with a continuously developing innovation ecosystem.
At the event, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh instructed the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units to focus on implementing five strategic tasks to enhance the value, quality, and competitiveness of the city's OCOP products.

Firstly, we need to promote the development of OCOP products linked to sustainable value chains, and strengthen the application of science and technology and digital transformation in production, management, and consumption.
Secondly, it is important to promote regional linkages, expand connections between OCOP products in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities; and build a smart and efficient distribution system, contributing to elevating the status of Vietnamese agricultural trade.
Thirdly, we need to innovate our thinking in state management towards a service-oriented approach, prioritizing consumer rights and product quality, and considering reputation as the foundation for sustainable development.
Fourth, strengthen promotion and trade facilitation, and build strong OCOP brands for Ho Chi Minh City, focusing on quality and market reach, ready to compete internationally.
Fifth, focus on training and developing management capacity, market skills, and innovative thinking for OCOP entities, especially cooperatives and start-up businesses.
With the theme "Ho Chi Minh City OCOP - Integration and Development," the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee expressed confidence that the city will continue to play a pioneering role in innovating the OCOP model, contributing to the development of modern urban agriculture, civilized rural areas, and elevating Vietnamese brands on the world map.
