"I can cancel anytime I like, I can choose to buy another item, I don't have to waste time going out to buy things," said Mr. Pham Duong Hoang, Cau Giay district, Hanoi .
"With an early cancellation policy, I don't have to waste time but can cancel right there and choose a new product," said Ms. Nguyen Phuong Anh, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.
However, many sellers are concerned that if the cancellation rate is high, it will lead to increased sales management costs. Not to mention, they also face the risk of being made difficult by competitors by placing orders and then canceling them, leading to loss of time and costs.
Answering the concerns of the seller, representative 1 e-commerce site states that sellers will not incur additional shipping charges or failed order rates from this policy.
Mr. Phan Manh Ha - Shopee's External Relations Director said: "Sellers will not be charged for unsuccessful orders, will not be affected by the return and refund rate, and will not need to pay any shipping costs during this period. We will coordinate with the carrier to carefully review these requests to ensure harmonious interests between sellers and buyers."
According to experts, these new regulations seem difficult but in fact are good for both sellers and buyers on e-commerce.
"This is good for sellers because sellers who offer this policy will of course be chosen by more buyers because it is a preferential treatment, creating more convenience in the purchasing process," said Mr. Nguyen Binh Minh - Member of the E-commerce Association.
