According to statistics, 50 workers showed symptoms of poisoning after lunch at a company in Dong Hung Thuan ward (HCMC).

Informing Tuoi Tre Online at noon on November 11, the leader of the People's Committee of Dong Hung Thuan Ward (HCMC) said that through preliminary information at the company located on National Highway 1A (Ward 13, Dong Hung Thuan Ward, HCMC), the People's Committee of the ward recorded that there were 410 workers at lunch on November 10.

After lunch, 50 people with symptoms of nausea, stomachache, red rash, itchy face... were taken to medical units: Trung My Tay General Hospital (received the most 27 people), Tan Phu Regional Hospital, Tan Binh Regional Hospital, Thanh Cong General Hospital.

By this morning, the number of people admitted to medical units had been discharged, but one pregnant case was in stable health and the doctor recommended continued monitoring.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 10, a relative of the patient (currently an employee at EP Company in Dong Hung Thuan Ward) reported to Tuoi Tre Online that their relative showed symptoms of food poisoning after eating lunch at the company.

"This afternoon my wife had lunch at the company, which included burnt fish, but she brushed off the burnt part and still ate it, then vomited. This symptom usually appears about half an hour to an hour after eating," this person shared.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety said they had received the information and were coordinating with the ward to investigate and handle the matter.

Previously, in Ho Chi Minh City, there was also an incident where 235 patients got food poisoning after eating bread at Ms. B's bread shop.

Most of the cases ate bread at branch 1 Nguyen Thai Son (Hanh Thong ward), some cases at branch 2 Le Quang Dinh (Binh Loi Trung ward).

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, clinical and paraclinical data of most patients with food poisoning after eating bread are consistent with intestinal bacteria, most likely Salmonella.

On November 10, the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety regarding the investigation and handling of a suspected food poisoning case after eating bread.

The Department recommends that hospitals with patients being treated focus resources on actively treating food poisoning patients, not allowing it to affect their health and lives.

Units shall organize investigations and trace the origin of food to clearly identify the source of raw materials and food suspected of causing poisoning; take food and specimen samples for testing to find the cause; investigate and strictly handle violations of food safety regulations (if any), and publicize the results to promptly warn the community.
