Under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event was organized by the Department of Performing Arts in coordination with relevant units. This is an important milestone in summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese literature and arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), a practical activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and reunification of the country, while affirming the role of literature and arts in the cause of national development when "the country is reunited".
To select 50 outstanding works, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a vote with nearly 200 works in the fields of literature, theater, music and dance. These works have gone through many rounds of selection, objective and scientific work, and a high sense of responsibility of the appraisal council. The 50 selected works not only vividly reflect the changes of the country, but also express the aspirations for peace , national harmony and achievements in building and defending the Fatherland in the new era.
This activity is meant to pay tribute and acknowledge the great contributions of generations of artists who have used art to preserve history and nurture the Vietnamese soul and personality. Thereby, it strengthens pride in cultural traditions, fosters the spirit of solidarity and the will to rise of the nation, and helps the public look back on a creative journey full of courage, innovation and aspiration over the past half century.
Also at the event, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will launch a program to create literary and artistic works "Living forever with time" for the period 2026 - 2030. This is a major creative movement of the cultural sector in the new decade, towards celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (1930 - 2030) and the 85th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945 - 2030).
The program is expected to become a bridge between Tradition - Modernity - Future, aiming to promote the participation of many generations of artists. The core goal is to create works of high ideological and artistic value, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese value system in the new development stage and arousing the aspiration to build a prosperous nation and happy people.
In particular, the program emphasizes the building of a team of artists as "warriors on the cultural front", contributing to the creation of works of high ideological, humanistic and artistic value. This activity is a milestone affirming the determination of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in implementing the strategy for cultural and artistic development with a long-term vision to 2035, vision 2045.
The program of announcing 50 outstanding works and launching the creation campaign "Living forever with time" both have great and profound meanings. First of all, it affirms that Culture is the spiritual foundation of society, the driving force for national development, in accordance with the spirit of the Party's Resolution. Moreover, this also proves that Vietnamese literature and performing arts have, are and will continue to make their mark on the journey of integration and development of the nation.
