TEMPO. Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced plans to build a green, environmentally friendly hospital in the new capital Nusantara, expected to be completed by mid-2024.
KPL. The foreign ministers of Laos and Thailand have begun discussions on building a railway bridge across the Mekong River, linking the Lao capital Vientiane with Nong Khai province in northeastern Thailand.
BANGKOK POST. The Thai government has approved a preferential loan package of up to 150,000 baht (about 4,100 USD) for each Thai worker returning from Israel due to the impact of the Hamas-Israel conflict.
AFP. Hundreds of people with foreign passports and the wounded have begun leaving the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, after Egypt opened the crossing for the first time since the conflict broke out on October 7.

YONHAP. South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan on the sidelines of the 16th Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum in Turkmenistan.
DAWN. Pakistan's Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 109kg of drugs in two raids in Punjab province, arresting two suspects.

DAILY NEWS. Turkey and Iran have called for a regional conference to prevent the conflict between the Islamist movement Hamas and Israel from spreading.

NBC. Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia is suing multinational technology company Amazon and US information technology company HP for allegedly infringing on patents related to video technology.
IANS. Finland and the United States have concluded final negotiations on a bilateral Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which is expected to be ratified by the Finnish Parliament before the end of 2023.

REUTERS. US President Joe Biden has nominated Kurt Campbell, a veteran Asia expert and one of his top national security aides, to serve as Deputy Secretary of State.
CNN. The US government announced that it will remove the Central African Republic, Gabon, Niger and Uganda from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) trade program.
AP. Water shortages due to prolonged drought have forced the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) to gradually reduce the number of ships allowed to pass through the canal each day.
CBC. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has agreed to work with the Canadian government to resettle more than 40,000 Afghan refugees.

DAILY NEWS. Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced that the two countries will open talks on the legacy of three decades of German colonial rule here.

Xinhua News Agency. The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) has completed the withdrawal of its troops from three bases in the northern Mali town of Kidal, according to Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General.
MIRAGE. Mozambican authorities have arrested 237 people in connection with violence during protests over the results of local council elections after the results were announced on October 26.
GAROWE. The African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has launched a training programme for 12 Somali military officers who have recently joined the mission to help stabilise the country.
