The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued a dispatch requesting agencies and units to strictly implement 24/7 duty and procedures for responding to storms and tropical depressions in civil aviation activities.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that Phu Cat Airport, Tuy Hoa is forecast to be in the area affected by storm No. 15.

Cam Ranh and Lien Khuong International Airports and Pleiku and Buon Ma Thuot Airports are required to proactively update information from official sources, in case the storm develops abnormally.

Strictly implement 24/7 on-duty work and storm response procedures

To proactively respond to storm No. 15, ensure the safety of flight operations, people and property at airports, and minimize negative impacts on flight operations in the context that the South Central Coast - Central Highlands region is continuing to overcome the consequences of severe rain and floods, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued a dispatch requesting agencies and units to strictly implement 24/24 duty and storm and tropical depression response procedures in civil aviation activities; Instructions on operations in dangerous weather conditions at airports.

Specifically, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires airports under the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) in the area affected by storm No. 15 to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect the airport infrastructure system, communication system... to promptly detect and handle damages (if any) to ensure the safety of works, stations, and ensure safe operations at airports.

At the same time, deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in airports, protect works, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.

For airports currently under construction, investors are required to work with contractors to immediately implement storm response measures; identify technical stopping points to stop construction according to the storm's developments; prepare conditions to promptly fix construction incidents, ensure safety, and limit damage caused by storms.

At the same time, arrange 24/7 duty, proactively update meteorological information to promptly propose appropriate and safe exploitation plans.

The specialized management agency warned that after the storm weakened and made landfall, there was a risk of heavy rain and flooding after the storm.

Continuously monitor the weather and issue timely warnings

Also in the dispatch, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) to direct aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor the weather situation in the area of ​​responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; and provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.

Airlines and flight safety service providers are required to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 15 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure flight safety.

At the same time, fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological facilities and base on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, protect people and property of the unit from natural disasters.

The Central and Southern Airports Authority is assigned to supervise the implementation of response measures at relevant airports; ensure smooth communication with the Command Board for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and relevant agencies and units within their scope of responsibility to deploy response measures in all situations...
