Regarding the 3-1 victory of the Vietnamese team over Nepal, the AFC homepage said: "The Vietnamese team defeated Nepal with a score of 3-1 in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying match, Group F, which took place on the evening of October 9. This victory helps Vietnam continue the race for a ticket to the final round in Saudi Arabia.

From the very first minutes, Vietnam showed their dominance and continuously put pressure on the opponent's goal. Their efforts were rewarded in the 9th minute when Nguyen Tien Linh broke the deadlock, giving the home team the lead.

However, Nepal showed a resilient fighting spirit. Just 8 minutes after Vietnam's opening goal, Sanish Shrestha scored the equalizer in the 17th minute, bringing the match back to the starting line.

The turning point of the match came in first-half stoppage time, when Nepal's Laken Limbu received a straight red card, forcing the team to play with 10 men for the entire second half. This was a huge disadvantage for Nepal.

Vietnam took full advantage of their numerical advantage. In the 67th minute, Pham Xuan Manh scored to raise the score to 2-1, re-establishing the lead for Vietnam. Just 5 minutes later, Nguyen Van Vi scored successfully, sealing a 3-1 victory, putting the match out of Nepal's control.

In fact, the Vietnamese team started strongly against Nepal and scored an early opening goal at Binh Duong Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City). However, conceding a goal later and having to go into the break with a 1-1 draw was disappointing for the Vietnamese team when playing at home, and in a position that was rated much higher than the opponent.

However, with an extra player in the second half, coach Kim Sang Sik's players took advantage to score two more goals and take all three points. After the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnamese team is still ranked second in Group F with six points, three points behind the top team Malaysia.
