AgriS and Loc Troi signed a cooperation agreement

This cooperation agreement aims to improve farmers' lives, develop value-added products and create a sustainable ecosystem for Vietnam's rice industry.

On December 8, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, AgriS (Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, HOSE: SBT) and Loc Troi Group officially signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to develop the Vietnamese rice value chain in a sustainable, modern manner and deeply integrate into the global market.

Vietnam's rice industry: Great potential but needs new steps

According to AgroMonitor data in 2024, Vietnam has 7.13 million hectares of rice, with an output of 43.5 million tons, equivalent to 23 million tons of milled rice. Of which, the Mekong Delta plays a key role with most of the output for export, helping Vietnam maintain its position in the top 3 largest rice exporting countries in the world .

The scale is large and the room for growth is clear, but the industry is entering a new phase: requirements for quality, transparency, low emissions and increasingly higher added value.

Cooperation between AgriS and Loc Troi opens up new opportunities

The cooperation between AgriS and Loc Troi is expected to open up a new development opportunity for the Vietnamese rice industry. The focus of this cooperation is to build a complete rice value chain, closely connecting the "5 Houses": Farmers - Scientists - Businesses - State - Financial Institutions.

From there, a comprehensive ecological value chain will be formed for farmers and the Vietnamese rice brand will be elevated in the international market based on the strengths of both businesses, in which AgriS brings technological capacity, management and international trade network to support Loc Troi in promoting sustainable production experience and close ties with farmers to continue opening up new markets and opportunities for the Vietnamese rice industry.

Four key cooperation focuses between AgriS and Loc Troi

AgriS is promoting the integration of three pillars: AgTech - FoodTech - FinTech on the ESG platform, creating an integrated agricultural ecosystem, with sustainable development technology as the backbone. Owning 77,740 hectares of raw material areas in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Australia, AgriS has nearly 240 product lines spread across groups of crops, sugarcane, coconut, banana, rice with nearly 2,000 B2B customers and more than 300 B2C consumer partners. With an export network to 76 markets, AgriS has a comprehensive platform from production to trade, ready to enter the rice industry with a solid position and long-term vision.

With more than 32 years of development, Loc Troi has built a sustainable agricultural ecosystem with a closed value chain including research, supply of seeds, agricultural materials, agricultural services, mechanization, processing and trading of high-quality rice.

Loc Troi is also currently one of 17 Vietnamese enterprises licensed to export rice to the Chinese market. Notably, the Hat Ngoc Troi rice brand was honored as a National Brand 5 consecutive times (2016-2024), affirming the capacity of Vietnam's leading agricultural service group.

The four key cooperation focuses between AgriS and Loc Troi include:

• Developing sustainable raw material areas - meeting international standards

The two sides will cooperate to develop raw material areas according to a sustainable farming model, applying biological - organic solutions, digital technology and a standardized quality management system. The goal is to form a rice value chain that meets international standards, reduces emissions and is consistent with sustainable development goals, aiming for the 1 million hectare high-quality rice project.

• Promoting trade in high-value rice varieties

At the same time, the cooperation focuses on commercializing specialty rice varieties, nutritional rice varieties and exclusive varieties that Loc Troi owns into the export network to 76 markets and a widespread distribution system with more than 120,000 points of sale of AgriS.

With the advantage of a global distribution network, AgriS will bring high-quality varieties to international markets - places that prefer high-quality rice, which have long been dominated by Thai rice, thereby expanding the presence of Vietnamese rice on the world trade map.

• Building a complete ecosystem for farmers

Not stopping there, the two sides also aim to build a complete ecosystem for rice farmers. This ecosystem helps farmers access: standardized materials; capital - financial services according to the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) model; farming technology, digital transformation; sustainable technical training; stable consumption and output. From there, completing the journey "from field to table" of Vietnamese rice.

• Developing value-added deep-processed products

AgriS and Loc Troi will jointly invest in developing high-end product groups such as: nutritional rice - functional rice; products from bran, rice, rice protein; products applying food technology (food-tech). This is a step to increase the economic value of rice, at the same time increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese rice in the long term.

The cooperation agreement between AgriS and Loc Troi is an important milestone in the roadmap to elevate the Vietnamese rice industry. The combination of technology, quality management, international trade and sustainable development platform will help Vietnamese rice accelerate strongly, contribute to global food security and affirm the position of Vietnamese rice on the world map.
