Alibaba and Huawei unveil new artificial intelligence products. |
Specifically, Alibaba introduced an artificial intelligence tool that helps create images from characters called Tongyi Wanxiang, at the Global Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Shanghai. Meanwhile, Huawei also demonstrated the third version of the Panggu AI model at its annual developer conference in Dongguan.
AI technology is growing and bringing huge benefits, Chinese enterprises are not out of the game and they are actively developing AI products. Research firm McKinsey predicts that AI will bring 7.3 trillion USD to the world economy every year.
Alibaba Cloud emerged from the company’s March restructuring, which split Alibaba into six divisions. In April, Alibaba Cloud launched a ChatGPT-like chatbot, Tongyi Qianwen. Along with Tongyi Wangxiang, the Chinese tech company also introduced ModelScopeGPT, an AI tool for developers.
Meanwhile, Huawei said its AI will take a different approach than current AI applications. Instead of focusing on content production, Pangu 3.0 will primarily serve the industrial sector. The technology aims to ensure more efficient safety inspections for freight trains, AI support for some local government services, and more accurate weather forecasts.
