Warmth and affection at the reunion of former leaders of the Southern education sector

Hearts of gratitude

On the morning of November 11, at the Ho Chi Minh City School of Education Management, a meeting with former Directors of Departments of Education and Training of Southern provinces and cities took place.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Dang Huynh Mai - former Deputy Minister of Education and Training , along with many former leaders of the education sector through many periods.

In his opening speech, Mr. Huynh Cong Minh - former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, representative of the Association of Former Directors of Departments of Education and Training of Southern provinces, expressed his emotion and joy at being reunited with colleagues and teachers on this special occasion.

"People say happiness has many definitions, but for me, meeting you again today is a great happiness. I am very grateful for the initiative of Ms. Dang Huynh Mai and her colleagues to create such a meaningful meeting," he shared.

Today's meeting is a meaningful initiative, helping former teachers look back on the past, share joy and encourage each other to continue spreading the spirit of loving the profession and loving people.

Continuing the program, Dr. Vu Quang - Principal of Ho Chi Minh City School of Educational Management, expressed his deep gratitude to generations of leaders of the Department of Education and Training who have been attached to and accompanied the school.

“This is the first time the school has organized such a meaningful gratitude program for generations of local education leaders. It is a great honor and also an opportunity for us to express our deep gratitude to those who have laid the foundation and contributed to the development of the system of educational management schools,” Dr. Vu Quang emphasized.

Mr. Quang, on behalf of all staff, sent his best wishes to the teachers and hoped that the meeting would become an annual activity, continuing the tradition of solidarity of the industry.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Te - former Principal of the Central School of Educational Management in Ho Chi Minh City, former Head of the Club of Directors of Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities, shared his emotions when meeting his colleagues again after many years.

“It must be said that there are rarely any occasions as warm, affectionate and meaningful as today. This is truly a bridge for those working in educational management across the country to sit together, exchange experiences, and gain more motivation to contribute,” he expressed.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Te said that in the coming time, the education sector is implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW, a breakthrough resolution, affirming that education is not only the top national policy but also the key to deciding the nation's victory in the future.

He emphasized the importance of promoting the intelligence and voices of previous generations, considering this a valuable resource to contribute to realizing the major policies and guidelines of the Party and State.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Te also shared his joy that at the age of over 70, he continues to work, research and has just received the National Award for his research on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style - as a motivation for him to continue accompanying the development of the education sector.

Connecting career of growing people

During the discussion, delegates shared many passionate opinions on maintaining connections and promoting the role of former education leaders.

Mr. Thai Van Long - former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau proposed to establish a Liaison Committee of leaders of the Department of Education and Training, to strengthen connection, exchange information and contribute to the industry.

"We can expand the scope of participation to include deputy directors of departments, to form a broad network, facilitate experience sharing and accompany the industry in implementing new resolutions and policies," he suggested.

Not hiding his joy, Mr. Tran Ngoc Son - former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak, former Head of the Department of Ethnic Education (Ministry of Education and Training), expressed his emotion when returning to the place where he was attached during his years of studying and working.

He shared that each meeting with old colleagues is an opportunity to review the past and exchange and contribute heartfelt ideas for the development of the education sector in the new period.

"The knowledge and experience I learned at this school have followed me throughout my career. From when I was Deputy Director, then Director of the Department of Education and Training, to the period when I held positions in the Party and later worked at the Ministry of Education and Training. Those lessons have been very helpful in designing and managing educational projects, training and fostering staff and teachers at all levels," Mr. Son shared.

Mr. Son said that many policies and strategies that the education sector has persistently proposed over the years are gradually becoming reality.

"What I am most satisfied with is the policy on the ethnic minority boarding school system, along with policies on salary increases and seniority for teachers and managers, which we proposed more than ten years ago, and have now been implemented," he said.

The meeting atmosphere was warm, emotional and full of solidarity.

The delegates recalled their working memories, shared their joy and pride in contributing to the education cause, and agreed to continue to maintain contact, support each other in work, and spread the spirit of "remembering the source of the water you drink".
