"Go to Da Lat to listen to music"
The invitation is even more attractive when Da Lat is recognized by UNESCO as a Creative City of Music on October 31, 2023 – the first city in Vietnam to join the Global Creative Cities Network in this field. The title not only honors the rich musical heritage but also opens up opportunities for tourism development, education and international cooperation.
In the past, when coming to Lam Dong of thousands of flowers, tourists often only checked in at cafes, entertainment spots or went on food tours. Now, the trend of "going to Da Lat to listen to music" is becoming more and more popular. Every weekend, many tourists, especially from Ho Chi Minh City, go to Da Lat to relax and enjoy music. In particular, May Lang Thang and Lululola are two famous venues with outdoor stages with romantic valley views. Especially, at sunset, clouds drifting in the pine forest make everyone ecstatic. In particular, these two places often have famous stars performing such as: Le Quyen, Van Mai Huong, Ha Anh Tuan, Quoc Thien, Phuong Linh... so the foggy city is always bustling and vibrant even in the low months. Ms. Nguyen Anh Thi (Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Every week when there is a favorite singer, we book tickets to Da Lat to relax and listen to music to recharge our energy for work."

It is worth noting that music events are often invested in large, systematic ways, and businesses also "spend a lot" of money to invite famous singers and artists. Many tourists do not hesitate to travel far to meet and interact with their idols, enjoy the melodies and quality music nights during their journey to explore Lam Dong.
Exploiting the music tourism trend well
Compared to Lam Dong with thousands of flowers, music tourism in Lam Dong with blue sea cannot be compared, but it is still a special highlight that attracts visitors when there are fiery music nights on the beach. Possessing a long coastline, smooth white sand, not only attracting by the romantic and gentle sunset on the sea, the impressive point of destinations such as: Pineapple Mui Ne, Hanna Beach, Joe' café, Chameleon Beach bar, Mango Beach... also lies in the impressive Acoustic music nights and DJs. These music nights often take place on weekends or holidays, attracting a lot of tourists, especially foreign visitors who like to immerse themselves in the vibrant, bustling sounds of experienced DJs. In addition, the space here is sometimes gentle, melodious and passionate with interesting Acoustic music performances.
Enjoying music in the romantic sea space, sipping a tropical cocktail is an experience that makes tourists become "brand ambassadors" when sharing moments on social networks. Ms. Nguyen Tran Huynh Thanh - representative of My Band music group (Phan Thiet ward) said: "Our group performs regularly at Hanna Beach every Saturday night with many different themes. During summer or holidays, the performance schedule is more crowded, attracting many tourists to listen to music, check-in, creating a vibrant atmosphere and gradually becoming a separate brand. This is a new tourism product that is being promoted by many resorts and entertainment areas in the province."
Nowadays, music tourism is a new trend, where music not only “tells stories” about destinations but also creates competitive advantages through emotions – the “door” to touch the hearts of tourists. Therefore, localities need to invest in long-term strategies, turning each note into a step, each melody into a night stay, contributing to sustainable demand stimulation and raising the brand of “creative music city” of Da Lat as well as Lam Dong tourism on the world map.

According to the provincial tourism industry, music events are an opportunity to promote cultural development, contributing to enhancing the image of a safe and friendly destination. From there, it will promote tourism, affirm the capacity to organize events and especially promote local economic development. Attracting tourists to tourist destinations through quality music events will create a rich and colorful picture of music and tourism.
