Strengthening the people's border defense posture.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Han, Commander of the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station, shared: “The unit consistently does a good job of advising the Party Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Sen Ngu and Cam Hong communes on policies and measures to organize, manage, and protect national territorial sovereignty and border security, building a strong people's border defense system and a robust people's border defense posture. In addition, the Station Command also identifies participation in socio-economic development as an important political task. Over the years, the unit has effectively built and maintained many models, programs, and movements to help the people in the coastal border area.”
In the movement to build new rural areas, officers and soldiers of the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station mobilized hundreds of man-days to help the people; building 5 houses of gratitude, borderland shelters, and 6 houses for poor households and policy beneficiary families under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
At the "Spring Border Guard - Warming the Hearts of the People" program during the Lunar New Year of 2026, the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station presented 530 gifts to families in extremely difficult circumstances, policy beneficiary families, and poor students who excelled in their studies... worth over 200 million VND.

To build a strong people's border defense posture, the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station has advised on the establishment and effective operation of 15 "Village Security and Order Self-Management Teams". Through this model, the people provide many valuable sources of information serving the work of managing and protecting maritime border security and sovereignty , and combating crime and violations of the law.
Typical examples include the case where a public tip-off revealed over 20kg of cocaine washed ashore in Tan Hai village, Cam Hong commune; the case involving the transportation of 26.7kg of explosives, 6 detonators, and over 50m of slow-burning fuse; and reports related to land disputes and fishing vessels operating outside designated zones…
Effective mass mobilization through "Temporary Teams"
Sen Ngu and Cam Hong communes are areas traversed by the coastal road. During the project's implementation, land clearance still faces obstacles due to some households not agreeing with the compensation and support plan. In response, the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station has intensified its presence in the area, proactively understanding the concerns and aspirations of the people, and promptly advising the local authorities on resolving their requests thoroughly, preventing the emergence of security and order hotspots.
Major Tran Cong Hien, Deputy Political Officer of the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station, said: “Given the complicated developments in the progress of land clearance and construction of the coastal road project in the area under our unit's responsibility, I proactively proposed to the Station Command to establish a “Temporary Team” with me as the team leader. The team's nhiệm vụ is to actively coordinate with local departments, agencies, and organizations to hold dialogues and successfully persuade many households to accept compensation and hand over the land to the construction unit.”
“Through various methods and diverse approaches, suitable to the unit and local conditions, in the coming time, the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station will strive even harder in skillful mass mobilization work, contributing to socio-economic development, poverty reduction, jointly building new rural areas, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, and building an increasingly strong coastal border area,” Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Han, Commander of the Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station, further shared.
For example, the family of Mr. and Mrs. Tran Van Tao and Tran Thi Sen in Liem Bac village have a house built on agricultural land. According to regulations, they are only entitled to 80% compensation for the value of the property on the land; the land itself is compensated at the agricultural land price. Considering the compensation value too low, they refused to relocate for a long time. Similarly, Mr. Tran Van Linh, also from the same village, runs a grocery store. When the coastal road passes through his property, he refused to relocate. Mr. Linh demanded that the authorities compensate him with a similar plot of land so that his family could have a stable life.
Through persistent efforts, propaganda, and persuasion using the principle of "slow and steady wins the race," Major Tran Cong Hien and the "Temporary Team" helped the families understand and accept relocation. Through skillful community mobilization, the "Temporary Team" successfully persuaded 12 households in the villages of Thuong Nam, Nam Hai, Liem Nam, and Liem Tien (Sen Ngu commune) to voluntarily relocate, clearing the land and ensuring the project's progress.
