On the evening of May 7th, at the Muong Thanh Tourist Market in Dien Bien province, a special art program themed "Dien Bien - An Epic of Victory" was held to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2026), the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and the 136th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).

The elaborately staged art performance consisted of three chapters: "The Fire of Dien Bien Phu," "Trenches of Memory - The Nation Honors," and "Dien Bien Phu and the Nation Rise Up," vividly recreating the glorious historical journey of the nation while reflecting the renewed face of Dien Bien Phu today. The program opened with the song and dance performance "Echoes of Dien Bien Phu," with stirring melodies recalling the spirit of the historic campaign of yesteryear. Through the profound commentary, the audience relived the days of "digging tunnels in the mountains, sleeping in bunkers, and eating meager rations in the pouring rain," where our army and people achieved a victory that "shook the world and resonated across continents."
In Chapter I, "The Fire of Dien Bien Phu," many timeless songs such as "Artillery Pulling Chant," "Immortal Flower Seasons," "Red Bauhinia," "Flower of the Front Line," "The Road Ahead," and "Proud of Dien Bien Phu" are performed with rich emotion, recreating the tenacious fighting spirit and the determination to win of our army and people in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

The program not only portrays the image of courageous soldiers on the Dien Bien Phu front, but also honors the civilian laborers who silently dedicated themselves to the war effort amidst the mountains and forests of Northwest Vietnam. The image of these resilient "ban flowers" enduring the smoke and fire of war has left a deep impression on viewers.
In Chapter II, "Trenches of Memory - The Fatherland Honors," the artistic space was filled with poignant songs such as "Autumn Remembers Uncle Ho," "General Vo Nguyen Giap," "Searching for Father," and "Dien Bien Phu Blossoms." These performances were a profound tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. In particular, the song "Searching for Father" evoked strong emotions in the audience, recreating the quiet journey of relatives searching for the remains of fallen soldiers more than seven decades after the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. The losses and sacrifices of previous generations were portrayed with great emotion, reminding today's generation to always cherish the value of peace.

These performances reflected the dramatic transformation of Dien Bien in its journey of integration and development.
From the fierce battlefields of the past, Dien Bien today is flourishing day by day with new constructions, prosperous villages, and an increasingly improved standard of living for its people.
