An Giang and Kandal (Cambodia) strengthen friendly cooperation relations

On the afternoon of November 27, the People's Committee of An Giang province coordinated with the Administrative Court of Kandal province (Cambodia) to organize a conference to review the results of cooperation in the first 6 months of 2025 and the direction of cooperation for the next year between the two localities.

At the Conference, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung gave an overview of An Giang province after the merger, associated with the 2-level government model; the economic growth rate (GRDP) of An Giang province in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 7.85%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta (MD), ranking 19th in the country; export turnover in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at 2.105 billion USD, up 6.68% over the same period, with key products including: Agricultural products of 311.42 million USD, aquatic products of 593.92 million USD, vegetables and fruits of 86.58 million USD and leather shoes of 420.78 million USD.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province affirmed that the implementation of cooperation contents between Vietnam and Cambodia, An Giang and Kandal provinces have promoted socio-economic development, improved the lives of people in the two provinces, especially border residents, contributing to building a stable, peaceful , friendly and cooperative Vietnam - Cambodia border.

To maintain the achieved results in the coming time, the Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province suggested that the two provinces continue to strengthen cooperation, closely coordinate and agree on cooperation orientations in the following year on: Continuing to seriously and effectively implement legal documents on the border signed by the two countries; strengthening the work of protecting and maintaining social order and safety on the border; closely coordinating, firmly grasping the border security situation, preventing and combating cross-border crimes, preventing illegal entry and exit, etc.

Speaking at the Conference, Kandal Provincial Governor Kuoch Chamroeun affirmed that the Kandal government always appreciates and is proud to have An Giang province as a strategic partner, a locality with many potentials and advantages for socio-economic development in various fields. This will be a favorable and favorable condition for Kandal and An Giang provinces to continue to strengthen their cooperative relationship, meeting the needs of each province, contributing to tightening the solidarity and friendship between the two provinces in the coming time.
