(NLDO) - The "military-civilian culture" festival aims to contribute to enhancing patriotism and pride in the glorious Party, great Uncle Ho, the heroic Vietnamese Army and People.
On the morning of December 22, at Nguyen Hue Walking Street (District 1), the Ho Chi Minh City Command organized the "Military-Civilian Culture" Festival. The program took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024); 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Attending the festival were Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Tran Kim Yen, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, reviewed the process of building, fighting and growing up of the Vietnam People's Army. Accordingly, from a small army with rudimentary equipment, the Vietnam People's Army has become a powerful army, together with the People, making glorious feats of arms and glorious victories, contributing to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. The Vietnam People's Army deserves to be the heroic army of the heroic Vietnamese nation, born from the People, fighting for the People, serving for the People; known and admired by international friends.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, in 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Command will coordinate with departments and branches to advise the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee to lead and direct the implementation of 80 key activities; focusing on improving the quality of state management consulting work on national defense, assessing, forecasting, proposing correct, accurate, timely and effective handling of situations, avoiding being passive and surprised.
