This is a leading large-scale spiritual cultural event in Vietnam with many sacred rituals.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Elder Thich Duc Nghiep, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council; Most Venerable Elder Chau Ty, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council; Most Venerable Elder Thich Thien Phap, Standing Member of the Sangha Council, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council; Most Venerable Thich Niem Thoi, Member of the Sangha Council, Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee of Tay Ninh Province, Head of the Organizing Committee.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee performed solemn rituals of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha such as: chanting Buddha's name to pray for blessings, the ritual of purifying the altar, the ritual of chanting sutras to bless...
In particular, more than 20,000 lanterns with wishes written by locals and tourists were lit up during the installation ceremony, creating a magical and sacred space.
Thousands of people joined in the solemn atmosphere of the lantern offering ceremony at the square at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, creating an unprecedented large-scale lantern ceremony at Ba Den Mountain.
Located at an altitude of 900m on the top of Ba Den Mountain, the Maitreya Bodhisattva statue is 36m high, 45m wide at its widest point, has a surface area of 4,651m2, and weighs 5,112 tons. The statue is shaped in a unique way never seen before in Vietnam: assembled from 6,688 natural sandstones inspired by terraced fields.
