On January 12th, in Hoa Thinh commune, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a conference to summarize and bid farewell to the military forces participating in the "Quang Trung Campaign" to support the construction and repair of houses for households affected by natural disasters in the province, before they returned to their units.

Attending the meeting were Comrade Cao Thi Hoai An, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Council, and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also attending were Colonel Cao Van Muoi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5; Colonel Duong Hoang Toan, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Military Region 5; Colonel Dinh Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command; and heads of agencies and units, local leaders, and people in the area.

As the core force directly involved in the campaign, units under Military Region 5 and the Ministry of National Defense mobilized more than 400,000 officers and soldiers to participate with dedication and effort, overcoming all difficulties, working according to the motto "3 shifts, 4 teams; working day and night, working through holidays and Tet"...
With decisive leadership and close, effective coordination between military units and local Party committees and authorities, the forces have joined forces to care for the lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters.

After more than 40 days of rapid and decisive action, the armed forces of Military Region 5 and units under the Ministry of National Defense have completed the construction of 610 new houses for households in three provinces: Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Khanh Hoa, accounting for more than one-third of the total number of new houses built in the eight central provinces and cities damaged by floods. In Dak Lak province alone, 331 houses were built, making a significant contribution to helping people stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, Dao My: “During the process of supporting the province in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, the armed forces have made exceptionally great contributions. Despite enduring countless difficulties and hardships, they have spread the positive image of Uncle Ho's soldiers and demonstrated the profound bond between the military and the people. These are beautiful images and noble deeds. On behalf of the provincial leadership, I express my deepest and most sincere gratitude to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces in general, and the Army in particular, for their efforts over the past two months, especially during the 'Quang Trung Campaign'."

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Cao Van Muoi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, emphasized: Throughout the campaign, the image of soldiers from Military Region 5, along with units of the Ministry of National Defense, working side-by-side with Party committees, authorities, and the people to rebuild roofs, repair walls, and transport materials has become familiar, touching, and a source of pride. The hurried meals at the construction site, the days of working through the night and on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)... have become familiar, moving, and proud images. Each completed house not only holds material value but also symbolizes the unwavering bond between the military and the people, profoundly affirming the truth: "Wherever the people face difficulties, the army is there."

The "Quang Trung Campaign" continued and brilliantly showcased the glorious tradition of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," writing further heroic epics in peacetime, demonstrating the strength of national unity, and resulting from the synchronized efforts of the entire political system. The campaign not only provided sturdy homes and warm Tet celebrations for people in disaster-stricken areas, but also sowed seeds of hope and instilled confidence in the people to overcome difficulties and build a new life.

The campaign has ended, but the memories of brotherly love, the shelters built out of compassion, and especially the strong bond between the army and the people will forever remain etched in the hearts of the local residents. That is the greatest victory of the "Quang Trung Campaign".

On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province awarded Certificates of Commendation to 60 collectives and 350 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign" in the province.
