Located in the Southern Key Economic Zone, along with the Long Thanh International Airport under construction, Dong Nai province is one of the localities with many expressways passing through. The investment in strategic transport infrastructure will be the "golden link" to help Dong Nai break through and develop strongly.

In Dong Nai province, there are currently 10 expressways that have been, are being, and will be built, including: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway, Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway, the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, and Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway.
With the above expressways, Dong Nai province is one of the leading localities in the country in terms of the number of expressway projects passing through (about 10/86 projects), accounting for 11.6%, the length of the expressways is about 393.4km, accounting for 7.6% of the total length of the national expressway network (5,176km).
Among the above routes, the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway was completed and put into use in 2015, the section passing through Dong Nai is 41km long. Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh expressway expansion project with a total length of nearly 22km and a total investment of nearly VND15,000 billion is being implemented and will be basically completed in December 2026.
In 2023, the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet expressway, the 51km section passing through Dong Nai province, will be inaugurated. The 28km Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway through Dong Nai and the 11km Ring Road 3-Ho Chi Minh City have already opened some sections. It is expected that the entire route will be technically completed by the end of 2025 and put into operation in 2026. The 34.2km Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway through Dong Nai is being accelerated to open to technical traffic before December 19, 2025, according to the direction of the Prime Minister . On August 19, relevant units started construction of the 60km Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway; the 101.03km Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh section of the North-South expressway west and the 6.6km Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh expressway. Particularly, the 11km Tan Phu-Bao Loc expressway and the 45.5km Ring Road 4-Ho Chi Minh City are also being coordinated by Dong Nai province to complete procedures to start construction.
Currently, site clearance work is being focused on speeding up progress to implement the construction of the Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh, Dau Giay-Tan Phu and Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh expressways.
