During training, Ho Van Lai and Ho Van Luan always paid close attention to the lectures, actively practiced, and corrected their mistakes according to the instructions of officers at all levels. For difficult and complex movements and techniques, the two brothers persistently researched and practiced until they mastered them.

After their studies and training, Ho Van Lai and Ho Van Luan would immerse themselves in sports activities, agricultural production, cultural and artistic activities, and reading newspapers.

Soldier Ho Van Lai shared that he and his younger brother, Ho Van Luan, were born and raised in the mountainous commune of Tra Leng ( Da Nang City) in a poor family. There were five siblings in the family; their father passed away early, and their mother single-handedly raised them. When he and Luan grew up and became the breadwinners of the family, their mother encouraged them: "Just enlist, fulfill your duty to the country first, and then come back to take care of the family later." He and his brother decided to volunteer for military service.

“Before enlisting, my brother Luan and I promised our mother that we would strive to do our best and complete all assigned tasks well. New recruit training is just the initial challenge; we still have to try much harder and make more effort to complete our military journey,” shared soldier Ho Van Lai.

Soldiers Trieu Van Duc (born in 2006) and Trieu Van Thang (born in 2007, Platoon 5, Company 10, Battalion 3, Regiment 48, Division 320) are also two brothers who enlisted in 2026. Coming from a disadvantaged family in the border commune of Ia Lau (Gia Lai province), soldiers Trieu Van Duc and Trieu Van Thang consider the Army a great school for learning, self-cultivation, training, and growth. After their discharge, they will return to build their homeland, help ethnic minority communities develop economically and culturally, and will not listen to or believe the distorted, deceptive, and enticing rhetoric of hostile forces.

In 2026, the 34th Army Corps had 7 pairs of brothers who volunteered to enlist and all quickly integrated into the unit environment, achieving many good results in training and becoming inspiring role models for new recruits in terms of patriotism and responsibility towards the task of protecting the Fatherland.

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Dung, Head of Political Affairs of Regiment 28 (Division 10, Corps 34), said that currently the Regiment has four pairs of brothers who have volunteered to enlist, including two pairs of identical twins. Besides the unit's management and education, these pairs of brothers in the same unit also have a great source of spiritual and emotional support.

After each strenuous training session, brothers Y Thong Nie and Y Thon Nie, soldiers of Company 11, Battalion 3 (Regiment 28), would take out family photos and mementos to look at, reminiscing about family and village memories together. This would nurture their will and determination to strive to complete their duties well during their time in the military.

Colonel Vo Son Anh, Political Commissar of the 320th Division, said that not only in the 34th Corps but throughout the entire army, the fact that many pairs of siblings have volunteered to enlist shows the strong appeal of the Army to the younger generation and the consensus of families regarding the task of defending the Fatherland. It also shows that the recruitment work under the two-tiered local government model is being carried out synchronously, strictly, and effectively.
