Visiting Vietnam for the second time and attending the APEC Summit, on the afternoon of November 8, 2017, Chilean President Michelle Bachelet spent time visiting handicraft shops on the streets of Hanoi.
The people of Vietnam and the capital Hanoi were very impressed when President Michelle Bachelet took a walk in Hanoi.
This not only helps the Heads of State understand more about the normal lives of Vietnamese people, but also proves that Vietnam is a very safe country.
Coming to the friendly, hospitable and peaceful country of Vietnam, APEC leaders had simple moments, immersing themselves in the ordinary life of the Vietnamese people.
Prime Minister Turnbull also said that it was a great combination to see Australian agricultural exports used in iconic Vietnamese dishes. In Asia, Australia is considered one of the countries that provide reliable and high-quality food.
“Australians eat Vietnamese food every day, and this is one of the positive contributions of the nearly 300,000 Vietnamese people who live in Australia,” said Prime Minister Turnbull. “However, this is the first time I have had banh mi! I really love the freshness of Vietnamese food.”
“Vietnam is Australia’s second largest export market for wheat and beef – with wheat being a key ingredient in the noodles and most of the banh mi that Vietnamese people enjoy every day,” Prime Minister Turnbull said.
