Typhoon No. 13 (Kalmaegi) and the historic rain and floods that occurred in the last months of 2025 caused significant damage to people and property in Dak Lak province.
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, the total estimated damage amounts to over 7,000 billion VND, including 606 houses that collapsed, were destroyed, or swept away and need to be rebuilt; 892 houses were severely damaged; and 5,455 houses had their roofs blown off or were partially damaged and need repair. After the storm and floods passed, the sight of the ruins and devastation left people penniless, many living in makeshift shelters, with no one knowing how long it will take for life to recover in this flood-stricken area.
But then, thanks to the attention and support of the Party, the State, and the people of the whole country, especially the "Quang Trung Campaign" launched by the Prime Minister to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for families whose homes were destroyed, swept away, or damaged, like a miracle, the flood-affected area was revived.
Just one month after launching the campaign, by December 31, 2025, Dak Lak province had completed the repair of 5,455 houses with damaged roofs or partial damage, and 892 houses with severe damage, with support of 40 million VND per household with severely damaged houses and 10 million VND per household with lightly damaged houses or roofs blown off.
By January 15th, Dak Lak province had completed the construction of 606 out of 606 new houses, with a support level of 170 million VND per house. The "Quang Trung Campaign" in Dak Lak was a resounding success, enabling people to move in and celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 in their warm and welcoming new homes.
