In an interview with Telefoot about Mbappe being given the captain's armband, Griezmann said: "It's hard to accept and difficult. I'm 32 years old, still playing but nearing the end of my career. I was very upset for a day or two."
Griezmann admitted he was upset but he eventually accepted coach Deschamps' decision.
"I fully support our captain Kylian (Mbappe). I wouldn't change anything, because that's who I am," Griezmann said after watching Mbappe play against Gibraltar.
In the recent match of the French team in the Euro qualifiers, the 32-year-old striker was not included in the list of players in the 3-0 victory of the French team against Gibraltar on June 17.

Previously, Griezmann was expected to become the new captain of the French team after Hugo Lloris retired at the beginning of the year. However, coach Deschamps gave the captain's armband to PSG superstar Mbappe in March. This decision made Griezmann dissatisfied in the dressing room.
The French team is currently leading Group B of the Euro 2024 qualifiers with 3 wins. In the early morning of tomorrow, June 20, coach Deschamps and his team will face Greece.
In addition to the issue on the French team, Griezmann also spoke out about the news of Messi going to MLS. The 32-year-old striker said that MLS is his dream and wants the league to have the best conditions when he goes there in the future.
