The Austrian side welcomed and highly appreciated the visit and working session of the high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, affirming that Austria highly values the traditional friendly relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam one of Austria's leading important partners in Asia.

Austria recognized Vietnam as a model of success in socio-economic development and highly appreciated Vietnam's foreign policy; at the same time, it believed that the bilateral trade turnover of 2.45 billion USD in 2024 is still very modest, not commensurate with the potential and desires of both sides.

In an exchange with senior Austrian leaders, Politburo member Phan Dinh Trac asked Austria to support and soon ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), support and urge the EU to soon remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnam's seafood exports, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam to export this item to the EU because this is a strong export industry, of great significance to Vietnam; asked Austria to continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Austria to integrate more deeply into the host society, maintain the national cultural identity and Vietnamese language, contributing to promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries.
