Admit mistakes, commit to correcting them
The atmosphere of the 33rd SEA Games is heating up in Thailand, but that excitement is mixed with low notes. In just a few days, the organization of the congress has encountered consecutive problems: The SEA Games fanpage mistakenly posted the Vietnamese flag as the Thai flag, the Lao flag as the Indonesian flag; the promotional poster using AI had spelling errors; the announcement caused confusion about the media banning the use of the congress logo; the sound system at the U.23 Laos - U.23 Vietnam match had problems, making the national anthem unable to take place completely. Also at Rajamangala Stadium, where the opening ceremony was being prepared, many light bulbs broke simultaneously, forcing the management to borrow lights from another stadium to replace them immediately.

The media and licensing process was not smooth either. Many press teams were given press passes close to the match, leaving reporters tired of waiting at the press center because the approval list kept changing.
In response to public opinion, Thai authorities quickly spoke up. The Thai Sports Organization (THASOC) sent a letter to the Vietnam Olympic Committee officially apologizing for the National Anthem incident and pledging not to let it happen again. The SEA Games 33 fanpage admitted that it had received inaccurate information in some stages and thanked the community for their comments. The Rajamangala Stadium Organizing Committee also clarified that the incident of covering the logo on fans' shirts with tape was a communication error and was immediately corrected. However, the Organizing Committee has not yet explained the mistake of the national flags on the women's futsal schedule.
EXPECTATIONS FOR HOMEOWNER EXPERIENCE
Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on December 5 that the budget for the 33rd SEA Games is just over 2 billion baht (over 1,600 billion VND), much lower than the previous edition (over 2,400 billion VND for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia). Hat Yai province being removed from the host list due to flooding forced the host country to urgently adjust the organization facility, generating an additional 160 million baht (over 130 billion VND). He admitted that limited resources, changes in the government apparatus and the impact of natural disasters have made the preparation process difficult.
The opening ceremony will not be grand but elegant, said Sports Authority of Thailand Governor Gongsak Yodmanee, as most resources are being prioritized for flood relief. Thailand has been hit by several major floods, directly affecting the infrastructure serving the SEA Games. Fans in the region still expect Thailand - a country that has successfully hosted the SEA Games six times - to soon tighten the process, stabilize the organization and ensure the event takes place safely and smoothly. The SEA Games is not only a place for athletes to compete, but also a symbol of the spirit of solidarity and nobility of Southeast Asian sports.
