Arsenal won the Premier League.

For the first time since their unbeaten 2003-2004 season, Arsenal won the Premier League title again, after Manchester City drew 1-1 away at Bournemouth in matchday 37.

In the penultimate round, Arsenal beat Burnley 1-0 while Man City drew with Bournemouth. With these results, Arsenal have 82 points, four points more than Man City, with only one round remaining, and have officially become the Premier League champions for the 2025-2026 season.

Arsenal started the season with a 1-0 win against Man Utd and won nine of their first ten games to take the top spot in the league from the beginning of October. The Gunners led for 200 days before being overtaken by Man City on goal difference at the end of last month. However, a run of four consecutive clean sheets allowed Arsenal to reclaim the top spot and march straight towards the championship.

This was Arsenal's first Premier League title since their unbeaten 2003-2004 season under legendary manager Arsene Wenger. That team boasted many stars such as Thierry Henry, Ashley Cole, Sol Campbell, and Dennis Bergkamp.

Arsenal ended their three-season run of finishing second to win their fourth Premier League title, two more than Liverpool and just one behind Chelsea. Manchester United currently holds the record with 13 titles, while Manchester City has eight. Considering the entire history of the English league, Arsenal has won 14 titles, trailing only Liverpool and Manchester United, who each have 20.

This season also marks the third consecutive year that the Premier League has had three different champions, following Liverpool in the 2024-2025 season and Man City in the 2023-2024 season. This is only the fifth time in the league's history that there has been a streak of three seasons with three different champions.

Arsenal's championship this season was built on collective play. Viktor Gyokeres, the striker recruited in the summer of 2025, scored the most goals (14). However, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Leandro Trossard, Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Mikel Merino also contributed regularly. In terms of assists, Trossard, Martin Odegaard, Rice, Saka, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes all had at least four assists.

In goal, David Raya continued his consistent form to win the Golden Glove award for the third consecutive season. The central defensive duo of Gabriel and William Saliba also formed the foundation of the most solid defense in the league with 19 clean sheets.

Arsenal's young talent Max Dowman has become the youngest player ever to win the Premier League. Two months prior, he also set a record for the youngest player to score in the league at just 16 years and 73 days old. Dowman was only 16 years and 144 days old when the final round of this season ended, and will break the record of Phil Foden, who won the title with Manchester City in the 2017-2018 season at 17 years and 350 days old. Having played more than five matches, the English midfielder will receive one of the 40 commemorative silver medals awarded to Arsenal by the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta also made history by becoming the first former Premier League player to win the league title as a manager (excluding players on loan). The Spanish coach has managed Arsenal since December 2019, after a stint with the club from 2011 to 2016.

Arteta's achievement is even more remarkable considering Arsenal was his first coaching job. Prior to this, the last manager to win the English league title in his first managerial role was Kenny Dalglish with Liverpool in the 1980s.

At 44 years and 54 days old, Arteta also became the youngest manager to lead Arsenal to a national championship, surpassing the previous record held by George Graham in the 1988-1989 season. In Premier League history, only Jose Mourinho has won the title at a younger age (42 years and 94 days in the 2004-2005 season).

To date, Arteta has achieved a win rate of over 60% in 351 matches managing Arsenal, surpassing many club legends such as Wenger, Graham, and Herbert Chapman.

After helping Arsenal end a domestic title drought that lasted over two decades, Arteta now has the opportunity to do something no manager in the club's 139-year history has ever achieved: lead Arsenal to European champions. The Gunners will face PSG in the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30th.
