At the preparatory meeting, member states successively shared and updated the progress of 10 key projects, serving as the basis for compilation and reporting to the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting.

Overview of the Session.
Presenting the results of the review of the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025 (ADM), the Thai representative stated that out of a total of 82 projects under ADM 2025, 60 projects have been completed, and 20 projects are underway and expected to be completed in early this year, demonstrating clear progress in realizing the region's shared digital vision.
Meanwhile, the ASEAN 5G Skills Framework Project, chaired by Malaysia, is considered one of the initiatives to meet the need for standardizing 5G skills at the regional level, as ASEAN accelerates the deployment and commercialization of this technology.
The project developed the ASEAN 5G Skills Framework, which was validated at the regional level, identifying 211 skills across 50 key jobs. During implementation, numerous consultation sessions were held in Malaysia, Singapore, and other ASEAN countries, with participation from representatives of all member states.
According to the Malaysian representative, the project's outcome is a common skills language, enabling consistent use by management agencies and businesses, thereby standardizing job definitions and developing digital human resources in the region. Malaysia plans to publish the ASEAN 5G Skills Framework Report after the project is officially approved.
Another topic discussed was the ASEAN Digital Platform Governance and Monitoring Guidelines Project, jointly undertaken by Laos and Thailand. The research and consultation process has painted a comprehensive picture of digital platform governance in the region, reflecting the diversity of approaches among countries and highlighting common challenges posed by the rapidly developing digital economy .
The project also emphasized the role of soft law mechanisms in areas such as consumer protection, data governance, and cybersecurity, through multilateral cooperation. Based on this, Laos and Thailand developed a set of guidelines to serve as reference documents for ASEAN countries in their policy-making processes.
In addition, the Indonesian representative stated that the Public-Private Dialogue Project on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which Indonesia spearheaded, has been completed, with a recommendation report being the main output of the initiative.
The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Digital is held annually to promote cooperation and joint initiatives for the sustainable development of the region's digital ecosystem.
