Discussions focused on the progress of fulfilling common commitments, as well as issues requiring continued coordination in the coming period.
Overview of the Session.
One of the key areas of focus is the review of the ASEAN Digital Master Plan (ADM) 2025, which acknowledges positive progress in realizing the vision of building a common digital ecosystem for the region. This provides a foundation for developing the ADM for the 2026-2030 period, aiming to ensure interoperability, synchronization, and sustainability in the implementation of digital initiatives at the regional level.
The meeting also discussed initiatives related to developing digital human resources, standardizing skills for new technologies, and promoting cooperation in digital platform governance. Many opinions suggested that establishing common reference frameworks and guidelines would support member states in refining their policies, while strengthening trust and coordination in the rapidly evolving digital environment.
In addition, delegates also shared the results of several initiatives for dialogue and cooperation between the public and private sectors in the field of digital technology, contributing to the formation of policy recommendations to serve the sustainable development of the digital economy , with a people-centered approach.
The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Digital Affairs (ADGSOM) is held annually to promote cooperation, coordinate joint initiatives, and enhance connectivity within the regional digital ecosystem. This event is part of the 6th ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN) and related conferences hosted by Vietnam, taking place from January 12th to 16th in Hanoi .
