At the Closing Ceremony, ASEAN Ministers adopted and reaffirmed several important joint statements, demonstrating a strong political commitment to building a connected, secure, inclusive, and sustainable ASEAN digital space that is people-centered and geared towards long-term development.
The conference agreed to promote the implementation of the ASEAN Master Plan 2030 as a strategic framework for regional digital cooperation in the coming period. The joint statement emphasized the need to develop synchronized digital infrastructure, narrow the digital divide between member states, and enhance cross-border data and digital service interoperability, creating a foundation for a unified ASEAN digital market.

The Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring cybersecurity and digital sovereignty , viewing these as core foundations for building digital trust and promoting the sustainable development of ASEAN's digital economy. The conference emphasized the central role of people in the digital transformation process, encouraging the responsible, transparent application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in accordance with international standards and practices.
The Conference acknowledged and welcomed the companionship and support of dialogue partners, and affirmed ASEAN's readiness to expand cooperation in key areas such as digital infrastructure development, next-generation telecommunications, cybersecurity, training and development of digital human resources, as well as technical assistance. Partners committed to continuing to share experiences, promote investment, and support ASEAN in its comprehensive digital transformation process.
Furthermore, the Ministers highly appreciated Vietnam's coordinating and organizing role and its positive contributions as the host country, thereby contributing to promoting dialogue, enhancing understanding, and strengthening digital cooperation within ASEAN as well as between ASEAN and its partners. The Conference reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining open dialogue, strengthening intra-ASEAN and international cooperation, and ensuring a balance between technological innovation, regional stability, and national security.
Within the framework of the Conference, ASEAN agreed that Brunei will host the 7th ASEAN Digital Ministers' Meeting, scheduled to take place from January 24 to 29, 2027, continuing joint efforts to realize the ASEAN Digital Vision by 2030.
The joint statements adopted in Hanoi are expected to become an important policy basis, creating new momentum for building a common ASEAN digital ecosystem, thereby further strengthening ASEAN's central role in regional and global digital cooperation.
