According to the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the three victims were employees of the Shahin SM LLC company and were the targets of the attack that took place on November 26. The country's report said the attack was carried out from Afghan territory, using a drone carrying grenades.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the group behind the attack was seeking to create “chaos, instability and distrust in the region,” without naming it. Kabul said it had made an initial assessment and would fully cooperate with Tajikistan in the investigation.
