To concretize the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, the Party Committee of Ba Long commune has issued many key resolutions and plans. These include a resolution on livestock development for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2035, and a resolution on the "One Commune, One Product" program.
Ms. Ho Thi Sau, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ba Long Commune, said: “We are promoting the transformation of the agricultural structure towards commodity production, increasing the value of products. People are supported with resources, plant and animal breeds, the application of science and technology, and consumption linkages. Household economics are emphasized, gradually forming concentrated production areas. In particular, land consolidation is a breakthrough, creating a foundation for large-scale production. The core goal is sustainable poverty reduction, preventing re-poverty, and successfully implementing the national target program for building new rural areas in the locality.”

To put the resolutions into practice, the People's Committee of Ba Long commune has developed detailed implementation plans. Mr. Mai Thanh Hong, Head of the Economic Department of the People's Committee of Ba Long commune, said: "The Economic Department closely coordinates with the General Service Center to send officials to the area to provide technical guidance on farming and livestock raising to the people. We focus on advising on selecting units to guarantee the purchase of products, helping people feel secure in their production."
Besides maintaining effective models such as Bo Chinh ginseng and deer antler velvet, the commune has encouraged people to form cooperatives and associations, shifting their mindset from self-sufficient production to commodity production. Inter-sectoral coordination among relevant departments has created a closed support system, from technical assistance to market access, helping people proactively improve their livelihoods. At the same time, the commune regularly reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of each model to make timely adjustments, ensuring sustainable household economic development and contributing to the increasingly modernized appearance of the rural area.
"Party members lead the way" builds trust.
Le Huu Chuong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Hamlet 5, shared: “The hamlet has 105 households with 426 inhabitants and 18 Party members. We determined that if we want the people to follow suit, Party members must set a good example. The Party branch has implemented the resolution of the Commune Party Committee by supporting 3 concentrated cattle farming models, prioritizing 2 models for ethnic minorities.”
To adapt to the harsh weather, the village encouraged residents to abandon free-range grazing and switch to concentrated livestock farming and feed storage. The exemplary actions of Party members dispelled the mentality of dependence, helping the villagers confidently strive for progress.
For example, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, formerly from a poor household, received technical support and livestock farming models, enabling her to borrow capital to invest in livestock development. “Thanks to the attention of the Party Committee, the government, and the village Party branch, my family has escaped poverty. Currently, we are expanding the scale of cattle farming and developing pig and poultry farming to increase our income,” Ms. Ha said.
The decisive leadership from the Party Committee has created momentum for poverty reduction efforts in Ba Long, yielding practical results. In 2025, grain production reached 222.75 tons, exceeding the set target; the weight of live pigs for slaughter reached 152 tons; and the poverty rate decreased by 1.12%... As a result, people's lives have improved significantly, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Ms. Ho Thi Sau, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Ba Long Commune Party Committee, further informed: “In the coming time, the Commune Party Committee will continue to promote the exemplary role of cadres and Party members, especially leaders, as well as replicate effective economic models for people to learn from and follow; innovate poverty reduction work in a multi-dimensional direction, shifting strongly from direct support to creating livelihoods; focus on leading and promoting economic restructuring, improving production efficiency and applying science and technology. At the same time, we will focus on vocational training, job creation and investment in essential infrastructure, determined to successfully achieve the goals set at the First Congress of the Ba Long Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030.”
