Three Vietnamese female PhDs receive L'Oréal – UNESCO 2025 scholarships

At the L'Oréal-UNESCO National Scholarship Award Ceremony “For Women in Science 2025”, three Vietnamese female PhDs were honored for their outstanding applied research. The three awarded scientists are pursuing urgent research directions in the world such as climate change, artificial intelligence and energy security.

Associate Professor, Dr. To Thi Mai Huong from Hanoi University of Science and Technology developed gene editing technology to help reduce methane emissions from rice fields.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Kim Ngoc from the University of Science – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City researches memristor-based In-Memory Computing architecture, which promises to significantly reduce the energy consumption of AI systems.

From the United States, Dr. Le Linh (Stanford University) was honored for her research on lithium-sulfur batteries, which aim for high energy density and longer life for electric vehicles and clean energy storage.

This year's scholarship award ceremony continues to affirm the mark of Vietnamese women in science, as their research is directly solving big problems of the future.
